Degassing system for aluminum baths R.I.D.

The ADS (Automatic Dipping System) is an automatic robotic device used to measure temperature, oxygen and carbon, and to sample steel in EAF and LF furnaces.
Sidermes can supply automatic ADS devices of various size, customized according to the customer's specific needs, capable of operating from the vault or the slag hole of the furnace.
Use of robotic ADS devices may improve/optimize production, offering both operative and economic benefits:

• Greater workplace safety
• Optimization of the tap-to-tap time (during the dipping of the robot the furnace continues its operation);
• Measurements taken and steel samples are representative and have high quality if the robot is always dipped in the same point of the steel bath;
• Combined probes may be used (see the Steel line - sensors section ), decreasing measuring time and wear of the robot.

The OPTICAST system allows to continuously measure the temperature of the Tundish by means of an optical sensor. The continuous monitoring of this parameter allows the real time regulation of the casting speed according to the steel temperature in the Tundish, optimizing the quality of finished products (slabs, blooms) and minimizing the risk of a break-out in the ingot mould due to an unsuitable casting speed.
